In-office dental anesthesia is typically not covered by dental insurance carriers.

The information below explains how billing works at Texan Anesthesiology Association. The clinical team will walk through your specific cost during your pre-procedure call.

How Billing Works.

Two separate bills
Your dental procedure and your anesthesia are billed separately. Your dentist's office bills for the procedure.

Texan Anesthesiology Association bills
for the anesthesia. This is standard for any procedure that uses a separate
anesthesia provider.
Out of network with commercial insurance
Texan Anesthesiology Association is out of network with all commercial insurance carriers and does not contract with any health plan.

Insurance carriers do not typically cover
in-office dental anesthesia. Contact your specific insurance carrier for details.
Deposits, payment, and rescheduling
A deposit is required to reserve your appointment, generally on the day you book. The remaining balance of your patient portion is due on or before the day of your procedure. Specific fees are explained during your pre-procedure call.

If you need to reschedule, we require at least 7 days' notice. With less notice, the deposit may not be refundable because nurses and anesthesiologists have already been booked.

Accepted Payment Methods.

Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and Debit Card.

Common Questions About Cost.

How much will my anesthesia cost?

Cost varies by procedure, by length, and for adult patients, by whether the case requires advanced care due to significant medical conditions. The clinical team will give you an estimate during your pre-procedure call, before the day of your appointment.

Will my insurance cover it?

Texan AA is out of network with all commercial insurance carriers. We will file with your medical insurance to attempt to collect, but coverage and reimbursement vary widely by plan. The clearest answer comes from calling your insurance directly with the anesthesia billing codes, which we can provide.

Can I get an estimate before my procedure?

Yes. During your pre-procedure call, our team will explain the expected cost and walk through how your insurance is likely to apply.

When is payment due?

A deposit is due when you book. The remaining patient portion is due on or before the day of your procedure.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We accept CareCredit, which offers six months interest-free with a 5.9% fee. CareCredit verifies available credit before running the card. The card user must provide the card, signature, and two forms of ID on the day of service.

What happens if I need to reschedule?

We ask for at least 7 days' notice for rescheduling. With less notice, the deposit may not be refundable because the anesthesia team has already been booked for your procedure.
