Texan Anesthesiology Association partners with dental practices across Central Texas to deliver in-office anesthesia for cases that need a physician anesthesiologist in the room. Dr. David Williams, MD, is on every case, supported by a clinical care team of nurses and medical assistants.
The experience behind every case.
Dr. Williams has personally delivered more than 13,000 in-office anesthesia cases across 25+ years. Specialized training in cardiology, CV surgery, critical care, and top skills in airway management.
Across those cases, he has a 100% nasal intubation success rate and has never had to convert a nasal intubation to an oral one. Post-op nausea runs under 1%. Typical discharge is around 30 minutes.

Built for medically complex patients.
Oral surgeons, periodontists, and general dentists across Central Texas refer their medically complex cases to Dr. Williams. When other providers will not take a case, this is often the team that gets the call.
Cardiac history and cardiology referrals.
Coronary artery disease, prior MI, stents, heart failure, arrhythmias, valve disease, pacemakers and defibrillators. Dr. Williams has worked directly with many Central Texas cardiologists and pulmonologists, and coordinates clearance and clinical detail before the day of the case.
Respiratory and airway concerns.
COPD, asthma, sleep apnea, home oxygen, history of difficult airway. The nasal intubation track record is part of how we handle these.
Advanced age and frailty.
Patients over 70, patients who are wheelchair bound, patients with multiple comorbidities. Recovery and dosing get the time they need.
Other complexity.
Significant kidney or liver disease, dialysis, vascular disease, prior anesthesia complications, history of failed sedation, morbid obesity. The clinical care team gathers complete medical history and consults before the procedure, including advanced cardiac studies when warranted.
We partner on both your routine, and most complex, cases.

What we bring to your office.
Texan AA arrives with a physician anesthesiologist, a clinical care team, a full anesthesia machine, the complete monitoring suite, recovery monitors, anesthetic agents, and emergency supplies and medications. The setup that Texas office-based anesthesia rules and ASA monitoring standards require.
The pre-procedure call, medical history, consults, records, and anesthesia clearance are all handled by the clinical care team before the day of the case. For medically complex patients, Dr. Williams coordinates directly with the patient's other physicians when needed. Your front desk does not chase records.
